FAQ

Are your coffees only available in whole beans?
It is possible to grind your beans if you leave a comment with your order or email us with your order number. We recommend that you grind your coffee before each preparation to preserve its quality.

Are your coffee bags recyclable or compostable?

We use 70% biodegradable bags. We are currently researching and developing a 100% compostable alternative. Due to the multiple materials used to manufacture coffee bags, they are not recyclable.

How do you keep coffee fresh?
All our bags have a valve that prevents coffee oxidation. Simply reseal the bag after each use.

How long will my coffee stay fresh?
All our coffees are freshly roasted. We recommend that you grind your coffee before each preparation to preserve its quality. In this way, your coffee can remain fresh for between 4 and 5 weeks. Afterwards, it will lose a little flavour (nothing too dramatic), but nothing more.

Where do you roast your coffee?
We roast all our coffees in the southwest of Montreal at the Canadian Roasting society where you also purchase our coffees.

What is third-wave coffee?
Third-wave coffee originated on the West Coast of the United States in the early 2000s. This movement sees coffee as a local product. The focus is on cultivation, production methods and quality, as well as understanding each player from farm to cup.n

Do you make specialty coffee?
Specialty coffee is assessed and regulated by the Specialty Coffee Association. A specialty coffee must achieve a taste test score of at least 80 and have a certain level of traceability to the washing station. At JUNGLE, we only offer specialty coffees.
